PERFORMANCE MEASURES & STANDARDS

Introduction
​
In 2024, the Florida State legislature passed F.S, 189.0694 requiring Special Districts to establish and report on the District's
goals and objectives for each fiscal year, commencing with fiscal year 2025 for established Special Districts.
Briefly, before the beginning of each fiscal year (i.e. before October 1), the Special District must create a document that contains:

a set of goals and objectives for that upcoming fiscal year

performance measures and standards that will be used later to measure whether those goals and objectives were achieved.
Furthermore, shortly after the end of each fiscal year (i.e., by December 1 of the following fiscal year), the Special District must publish an annual report on the District’s website describing:

The goals and objectives achieved by the Special District, as well as the performance measures and standards used by the District to make this determination.

Any goals or objectives the district failed to achieve.
